Off the beaten path

Just recently a 48-year-old man who has not used money in nine years and resides in a desert cave in Moab, Utah, http://www.details.com/culture-trends/career-and-money/200907/meet-the-man-who-lives-on-zero-dollars was quoted as saying he loves his simple existence Daniel Suelo said while he shops for clothes by going through garbage, he is content with living an existence where he does not have to worry about a job, mortgage or other concerns that plague most U.S. residents. A comparable simple (and perhaps more mainstream) existence is that of Jay Shafer, founder of Tumbleweed Tiny Houses, who has been living in an 89 square foot home since 1997. Shafer’s decision came as some concerns over the impact of a larger home on the environment began to surface within him. He did not want to maintain a lot of unused or unusable space. But what about you? What do you currently live in? Do you desire more? Less? Could you get by without a job and rummaging for the remains of others’ lavish lifestyles? Do you desire more because this is America – land of the free, home of the brave – where we are free to work hard and live large? GO!
