By Kay S. Pedrotti A family night of 1950s and ‘˜60s music is planned for Sept. 30 in Milner, with proceeds going to Friends of the Milner Library. The 5 Achords, a Thomaston group, is donating time to help raise funds for building a library in Milner. The event will be held at the St. George’s Episcopal School auditorium starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and available at city hall in Milner. Members of Friends of the Milner Library also will have tickets to sell, Carole Wilson said; call 770-358-1604 or 770-358-3432 for how to contact members. Carole Wilson noted the non-profit Friends group is very close to having raised enough for matching funds for a $783,000 state grant for the building. Meetings are held on second Mondays at 6 p.m. at Milner Methodist Church and everyone is welcome.
