On the march: Class of ’13 feted Saturday

The LCCHS Class of 2013, 155 seniors strong, will receive diplomas in graduation exercises set for Saturday morning at 9 a.m. After colors are posted by the JROTC, multiple class members will have roles in the commencement. Kaylee McCormick will sing the National Anthem while STAR student Kendall Little will deliver the welcome. Abigail Gutierrez will deliver the inspirational message and Dustin Lawhorne will present the class gift. The salutatory and valedictory addresses will then be delivered by Rebekah Lee and A’Ja Johnson respectively. Following remarks by school board chairman Susan Byars, superintendent Dr. Bill Truby and principal Derick Austin will present diplomas. Victoria Evans will pay tribute to the senior class after which Megan Etheridge will deliver the benediction. In the event of rain, the commencement will be moved to the the Fine Arts Center and tickets issued to seniors.
