One hospitalized after Yatesville Rd. crash

By Cade Lancaster One man was in the hospital Sunday evening after his vehicle left Yatesville Road and crashed into a pine tree. The incident occurred at approximately 6:05 p.m. at 769 Yatesville Road, just down from Bypass Road. ”The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree. Sheriff’s deputies shutdown the roadway and we had to extricate the patient who was trapped. Afterwards EMS transported him to the hospital,” Captain William Reeder of the Lamar County Fire Department said. Anderson’s Towing arrived 45 minutes after the incident. Further investigation revealed the accident occurred due to driver error. ”The driver fell asleep behind the wheel and ran off the roadway into the tree,” senior trooper Knight of the Georgia State Patrol said. According to emergency service personnel on scene, the driver was conscious and alert after the crash.
