One jailed, one on the run after drive-by shooting

One man is in jail and another remains on the run and considered armed and dangerous following a drive-by shooting. From Lt. Mike Richardson, Griffin P.D.: On January 20, 2014 the Griffin Police Department responded to a shooting incident that occurred at the corner of N. 2nd St. and E. Central Ave. The victim, Jonas Bush was shot five times from a high power rifle causing serious injuries. He was life flighted to Atlanta Medical Center and has since recovered from his injuries. After developing several leads and conducting several interviews Inv. Chip Johns with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Griffin Police Department was able to positively identify the vehicle used in the shooting, a silver Nissan Maxima, and both the driver of the vehicle and the alleged shooter. The Driver was identified as Carlos Elder of 112 Blanton Ave., Griffin, Georgia. The alleged shooter was identified as Trey Harris of 222 N. 9th St., Griffin, Georgia. On February 6, 2014 Inv. Johns obtained arrest warrants for both suspects. On February 7, 2014, Elder was arrested and turned over to the Spalding County jail. He was charged with one count of Aggravated Battery with additional charges pending. As of the date of this release Trey Harris has not been arrested and is still at large.
