One killed in I-75 crash

One person was killed in a three vehicle crash on I-75 Tuesday night. A Conyers man was killed in a three vehicle accident last night around 11:00 p.m., June 18, 2013, on I-75 near mile marker 182. Christopher Vesely, 42, of Conyers, was driving northbound on I-75 in a Lincoln Towncar, in the first lane, when he apparently lost control of the car and veered into the third lane. As the Towncar crossed the other lanes of traffic, it was struck by a tractor trailer driven by Valerio Pollard of Summerville, GA. The Towncar then struck the median wall and was struck by a second tractor trailer driven by Stephen Alan Cumbey of Lake Orion, MI. The Towncar was pinned between the two tractor trailers. Vesely was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident and was wearing his seatbelt. His body was taken to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta. No other injuries were reported by the drivers of the tractor trailers. The cause of the accident is under investigation. Deputies stated that the road was wet from recent rains but that it was not raining when the accident occurred. At least two lanes of traffic were blocked on the interstate until around 1:00 a.m. while the accident scene was cleared.   Allison Selman-Willis PIO/Accreditation Manager Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Forsyth, GA
