An unidentified male passenger was killed when two SUVs struck head-on late Monday south of Zebulon.Everyone involved in the Pike County crash was transported to local hospitals.”It does appear to the investigators that alcohol may be a contributing factor in the collision,” Sheriff Jimmy Thomas said.The crash remains under investigation. Police are waiting on blood-test results from both drivers.At approximately 11:17 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash site on Highway 19 near its intersection with Highway 109. Police said a Toyota Four-Runner driven by Timothy Piper of Thomaston hit a Ford Explorer driven by William Dunn of Atlanta. Police said Piper was traveling southbound when he apparently crossed the center line and entered the northbound lanes of Highway 19.An unidentified male, who was pronounced dead at Upson Medical Center, and Michelle White of Atlanta were passengers in the Explorer.An autopsy will be performed on the victim at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab to find the cause of death, Thomas said.
