One lifeflighted, one on the run after crash

UPDATE: The Hispanic male who fled the scene remained at large at 11 a.m. Thursday. Investigators are also trying to find the owner of the van he was driving. One man was airlifted to a trauma center and another is on the run after a high impact collision Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Rock Springs and High Falls roads in northeast Lamar County ******************** NOTICE: This story and photo(s) are under copyright. They may not be republished or disseminated in any form or format – including social media – without explicit permission. ********************* initial indications were a white work van, driven by a Hispanic male, crossed the centerline and hit a Mercedes sedan head on at a high rate of speed. The driver of the Mercedes was ejected, cared for at the scene and then flown out. The van driver had a cooler between the seats of his van and six beer cans on his dashboard. Witnesses said he got out, looked at the other driver then fled on foot up Rock Springs Road. He was still at large at 7 p.m. The initial 911 dispatch went out just before 5 p.m. More to follow…
