The health care bill introduced in the House of Representatives July 14 sparked debate from the halls of the nation’s capital to the town hall meetings of rural America.America’s Affordable Health Choices of 2009 (HR 3200) would require citizens to have insurance coverage, provide a public health option in the form of a health insurance exchange and increase middle class citizens’ access to health care through expanded medicaid coverage. Sen. Saxby Chambliss said at a Gainesville Kiwanis Club meeting he will not support health care reform and the plan would take control of about 17% of the nation’s economy. According to the Gainesville Times, he said constituents have requested that he not mess with the current health care system.”Let’s don’t forget one thing ‘“ and I’ve told (the president) this directly ‘“ we live in a country that has the best health care system in the world,” Chambliss said. “We’re the envy of all other parts of the world when it comes to health care delivery.”
