Lamar parents are invited to provide input and assist in developing the Lamar County School System’s Parent Involvement Policy, Equity Plan, and Implementation Plan – known as the CLIP. ‘Your input is invaluable to our planning and providing the best service for your child’s success,’ said assistant superintendent Norma Greenwood. ‘The Annual Parent Quality Survey is online for you to provide input. Survey results are used to help the district review what activities you deem important to help you as a parent and to make improvements for student success.’The Lamar County School System receives Title IA and Title IIA funds as a part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). Title IA is designed to support academic standards and provide resources to improve teaching and learning for lowachieving students. Title IA also provides funding to increase and improve parent involvement. Title IIA provides resources for recruitment, retention and professional learning to enhance teacher and leader quality.Included in the survey are opportunities to comment on the district’s Parent Involvement Policy, the Equity Plan and the CLIP. The link to the survey can be found at http://www.lamar.k12.ga.us. Click on ‘School Quality and Improvement Survey’ and then answer the questions. The survey will be available through Friday, May 1 at 12 noon. For those who do not have a computer or other digital device that allows access to the Lamar County School System’s website, parents may go to their child’s school, the local library or call system coordinator of parent involvement, Amy Banks at 770-358-5891.’Your input is requested by May 1 for planning for the next school year,’ said Greenwood. ‘However, both plans will be online all year for your input anytime.
