Lamar County administrator Wayne Patterson is cleaning out his office this afternoon in anticipation of being terminated at tonight’s county commission meeting. Commission chairman Jay Matthews confirmed the board’s intent this afternoon. ”I don’t think it is fair to the man but the votes are there. The commission expects so much out of Wayne but doesn’t give him any authority,” Matthews said. Tonight’s meeting is at 7 p.m. More on this story as it develops.
