Piedmont Green Power LLC., which operates a biofuel-powered electrical generation plant here, pays far and away more in property taxes than any other business entity in the county, according to tax commissioner Andrea Anthony.PGP paid $1,401,268.34 in property taxes in 2017 almost $1 million more than the next highest company on the list, Jordan Forest Products, which paid $507,546.92.After those two, the amounts drop off considerably. Rounding out the top five are Southern Rivers Energy ($199,532.79), Continental Tire ($196,782.69) and Norfolk-Southern ($171,916.56).
