Piedmont Green Power has ordered and expedited shipment of equipment to cut noise from its wood-fired power generation facility off MLK bypass here. Noise levels have generated multiple complaints from neighbors. David Dunbar of Rollcast Energy reported to neighbors a stack silencer for the plant has been ordered and should arrive around Nov. 22. Once it arrives, the plant will be shut down for installation. Neighbors should be able to tell a difference by Thanksgiving, Dunbar said.
