Pike DFCS office under investigation

The Pike County Department of Family and Children’s Services is under investigation after a report was made to local authorities. ’We have a complaint that has been filed on DFCS,’ confirmed sheriff Jimmy Thomas. ‘It may be passed on to other authorities since the complaint is about a state entity.’ The Pike County Journal Reporter will release further details as they become available. DFCS employee Jeannie Griggers was fired in January of this year. She served as social services supervisor before her suspension and was in charge of supervised child protective services and foster care workers. She may or may not be implicated in the report filed against the Pike County DFCS office. Griggers was fired after she reportedly became violent during an altercation at a home in Griffin. She cut her finger during the incident and then refused to leave the home, slinging blood on the living room wall, fan, love seat and the dining room floor, reportedly. Rusty Adams of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation reported last week the complaint had not yet been forwarded to his agency.
