Pirates brought no fight to this ‘Battle’

The Pike Pirates traveled to Barnesville Friday night for the Battle of Potato Creek and got taken to a creekside woodshed for a sound thrashing at the hands of the Lamar County Trojans. The Trojans (1-0-1), who struggled in the first half of their opener last week against the Howard Huskies, opened a can of it on the Pirates who were down by 24 points after less than eight minutes and trailed 30-0 after one quarter and 44-0 at the half. The Pirates got nothing going until the Trojan JV had been in the game for some time.
