Police probing gang-related shooting; arrest made

BPD investigators have released some information about an alleged gang-related shooting at an apartment complex off Veterans Parkway Wednesday night. One arrest has now been made. Multiple shots were fired and one person was hit at 200 Southland Dr. According to Lt. Al Moltrum of the BPD, two groups of young men were arguing in the parking lot at an apartment complex when gunfire broke out. Numerous cars were shot up as were apartment units. Police have arrested Peter W. McLean Jr. of Lithonia and recovered a handgun. McLean suffered a minor wound from a shotgun pellet. Moltrum said the incident was apparently drug related. Investigators were on the Gordon College campus pursuing the investigation Thursday afternoon. Several residents of the apartment complex where the violence took place said those involved are gang members.
