Between Monday, Aug. 11, and Sunday, Aug. 17, the Barnesville police department made two arrests: Barbra Maines, 33, 110 3rd St., Thomaston, aggravated assault; Morgan Gaston, 32, 615 Northside Dr., Apt. M-6, Griffin, theft by taking. Officers answered 182 calls for service including one fight, one animal complaint, 15 security checks, three thefts, one loud music, one prowler, one welfare check, three burglaries, 14 domestics, 35 foot patrols, 19 suspicious persons/vehicles, 12 speeding, six accidents, one livestock or carcass on road; one intoxicated pedestrian, seven escorts, two alarms, one damage to property, one school crossing duty, two special details and one mental subject. They issued 40 citations including one failure to change name or address within 60 days, one noise violation, 14 speeding, two running red light, one striking fixed object, one DUI, six failure to stop or yield, one no tail lights, one headlight violation, four brake or turn signal violations, one failure to dim headlights, six seat belt violations and one theft by taking.
