Police Report

Between Monday, July 6 and Sunday, July 12, 2015 the Barnesville Police Department made four arrests, including: Shawna Whatley, 52, 121 North Street, Barnesville, disorderly conduct and obstruction; Monterious Hurley, 26, 406 Georgia Avenue, Thomaston, driving while license suspended/revoked, DUI, simple battery, giving false name to officer; Prentice Head, 33, 126 Westchester Drive, Barnesville, interference with 911 call, battery, cruelty to children, false imprisonment; Colin McDuffie, 18, 190 Dillion Drive, Hampton, possession of marijuana. The Barnesville Police Department answered 175 calls for service, including four animal complaints, 13 security check, three thefts, one prowler, one burglary, 11 domestic, 34 meet in person, one vehicle registration, 26 foot patrol, 14 suspicious person/vehicles, 10 stopping person or vehicle, one suicide or attempt, one assist motorist, six speeding autos, two accidents, six ambulance needed, one intoxicated pedestrian, 16 convoy/escorts, one bond approval, two civil matters, seven alarms activated, two drug traffic, one missing person, four damage to property, one 911 hang up call, six pick up prisoner/subject, issued 26 citations including one duty to keep animal on property, one possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, two driving on suspended license – first offense, one no license on person, one no insurance, one failure to maintain insurance, one driving with suspended tag, one speeding, two failure to obey traffic control device, one DUI alcohol 0.08 grams or more, 21 or over, one failure to maintain lane, one failure to yield when entering intersection, one failure to stop at stop/yield sign, six safety belt violations, one open container, one simple battery, one giving false name to officer, one disorderly, one obstruction. During the month of May 2015, the Milner Police Department logged 416 hours and traveled 2,521 miles. Calls included 12 incidents, two accidents, five assists, 102 building checks and 12 miscellaneous. Arrests/citations: 34 speeding, one tampering with utilities, one expired tag, two suspended licenses, two suspended registrations, two open container violations, two reckless driving, one DUI, one fleeing/attempting to elude, one passing in no-passing zone, two failure to maintain lane, three child safety restraint violations and three adult seat belt violations.
