Police report

Between Monday, January 22 and Monday, January 29 the Barnesville Police Department made the following arrests: Calvary Akins, 30, 1209 Marquis Way, Morrow, reckless driving, expired tag, discharging a firearm in city limits and concealing or misrepresenting tag; Christopher Neil, 28, 1309 Charles Johnson Road, Forsyth, seat belt violation and driving on suspended license; Xavier Smith, 22, 588 Brook Road, Barnesville, taglight violation and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana; Gary Parker, 52, 201 Olivia Lane, Barnesville, obstruction and two counts battery; Taylor Smith, 18, 7399 Harbor Cove Lane, Stone Mountain, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana; Danny Talmadge, 36, 109 Kate Court, Barnesville, disorderly and obstruction. They answered 316 calls for service including: one fight, three animal complaints, one juvenile, 201 security checks, one theft, six domestics, eight foot patrols, 17 suspicious persons/vehicles, five speeding, two accidents, nine escorts, three bond approvals, nine alarms, three fires, one damage to property, three improperly parked vehicles and one mental subject. They issued 31 citations including: two cruelty to animals, two possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, one concealing tag, three expired tags, one driving on suspended license, one no proof of insurance, 10 speeding, one reckless driving, one headlight violation, four seat belt violations, one open container, one disorderly, one obstruction and one discharging firearms within city limits. The Barnesville Police Department will be posting the speed monitor cart on Carleeta Street from January 29 thru February 11. Please obey the speed limit.
