Between Friday, Feb. 17, and Friday, Feb. 24, the Barnesville police department made six arrests:Jeffery Taras, 50, 305 Taylor St., Barnesville, resisting arrest and shoplifting;Decarlos Grier, 21, 159 Halls Bridge Rd., Jackson, simple battery;Laquandria Alford, 21, 130 Abercrombie Rd., Culloden, simple battery;Lyndia Lyons, 42, 132 12th St., Barnesville, DUI, no insurance and resisting arrest;Demarcus Jenkins, 20, 112 1st St., Barnesville, possession of marijuana;Keira Jones, 21, 707 Ann St., Griffin, disorderly conduct and driving while license suspended.Officers answered 107 calls for service including one fight, one animal complaint, nine security checks, one criminal trespass, one welfare check, one burglary, three domestics, 20 foot patrols, 10 suspicious persons/vehicles, two accidents, 10 escorts, 10 alarms and one damage to property. They issued 23 citations including one possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, one driving while license suspended or revoked, one no license on person, one no insurance, eight speeding, one running red light, one DUI, two failure to stop or yield, one seat belt violation, one shoplifting, two simple battery, one disorderly conduct and two resisting or interfering with arrest.
