Between Saturday, March 3, and Friday, March 9, the Barnesville police department made 12 arrests: Corelle Wilson, 19, 134 Bush St., Barnesville, criminal trespass; Jamahl Only, 21, 627 Greenwood St., discharging a firearm within the city limits; Gregory Jackson, 18, 101 Spring Cir., Apt. 3, Barnesville, disorderly house; Kenneth Perry, 18, 101 Spring Cir., Apt. 3, Barnesville, disorderly house; Kareem Abdul-Saboor, 18, 6255 Nellie Br. S.E., Mableton, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana; Gabriel Marshall, 19, 157 W. Canterbury Dr., Jonesboro, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana; Ereca Davis, 19, 7663 Oakvale Rd., Douglasville, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana; Whitney Harper, 19, 6434 Cedar Mountain Rd., Douglasville, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana; Justin Gary, 21, 6917 Creekford Lane, Rex, speeding and reckless driving; Mary McDowell, 20, 404 Bush Rd., Barnesville, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana; Clorrisa McDowell, 24, 217 Mill St., Barnesville, disorderly conduct; Keyoshia Fletcher, 19, 120 Bradley Cir., Barnesville, disorderly conduct. Officers answered 167 calls for service and issued 38 citations. Street patrols In an effort to create safer streets for citizens and visitors, the police department will perform concentrated patrol on College Drive and Atlanta Street March 12-15. Patrolmen will enforce speeding, child restraint and seat belt violations. School resource officers will monitor and enforce child and seat belt violations at the schools. PRIDE classes About 200 teens are killed in crashes every year in Georgia but many teen crash fatalities are preventable. The Georgia teen ride with PRIDE program was created by the University of Georgia’s Traffic Injury Prevention Institute. It is designed to help parents and teens reduce teen accidents. A PRIDE class is held in Lamar County each fourth Tuesday at Southern Rivers Energy. The class is two hours long from 6-8 p.m. and it is free. To register call Lt.
