Police seeking Flash Foods robber

The Flash Foods convenience store at the intersection of Highways 341 and 36 West was robbed late Wednesday night by a man who may have brandished a weapon. BPD investigator Dickie Carreker said the robber was a black male wearing a black jogging suit and white tennis shoes. He had his face covered in black and what appears in the surveillance video to be white socks on his hands. ”He made one motion with his hands that indicated he may have had a gun,” Carreker said. The robber was only in the store for about 45 seconds. He fled in the direction of the old feed store south of Flash Foods. “We think he must have had a car down there. Our guys and a sheriff’s deputy were there within a minute of the call which went out at 11:09 p.m.,” Carreker said. The lone clerk on duty at the time of the robbery was frightened but unhurt.
