First Baptist Church of Barnesville is sponsoring a prayer walk around the Lamar County public schools the day before school begins, on Sunday, Aug. 5, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. ’Prayer walking’ is simply praying as one is walking. The community is invited to join in this special time of prayer. Participants will meet in the parking lot of the school Fine Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. for some gospel music, lemonade refreshments and instructions. At 6:45, people will be given a general prayer list and asked to pick a school around which to pray.
