The Barnesville-Lamar County Humane Society is tackling the task of catching and fixing feral cats at Hardee’s, Lamar Tire and Dollar General. At the same time volunteers are trying to save 10 shar pei mix puppies whose mother was killed by a car. It costs $60 to spay a female and $40 to neuter a male cat. The plan is to catch them a few at a time as money comes in. Donations can be mailed to the Feral Cat Fund at 218 Memorial Dr., Barnesville, 30204. Also being sought are goat’s milk, food, blankets and other items needed for the oversized litter of puppies, which have been split between three foster homes.
