Election season gets into full swing Monday when qualifying begins for those seeking election or reelection in the May 19 general primary. Qualifying runs March 2-6. Monday is also the last day to register to vote in Georgia’s March 24 presidential preference primary.One election surprise has already popped. Rep. Ken Pullin has announced he will not seek reelection after serving just one two-year term.There are reports Thomaston funeral director Kenny Coggins might seek Pullin’s house seat.In the general primary, Milner voters will go to the polls to choose a successor to mayor Joe Bostwick and city council member Betty Wilson, both of whom resigned.Other local and regional incumbents facing reelection this year are sheriff Brad White; superior court clerk Caleb Tyson; probate judge Kathy Martin; tax commissioner Andrea Anthony; magistrate judge Karen Jackson; coroner Jim Smith; county commissioners Ryran Traylor and Nancy Thrash; school board members Horace Hightower and Joshua Swatts; state senator Marty Harbin; state representatives David Knight and Pullin; district attorney Jonathan Adams; U.S. Rep.
