By Walter Geiger A 34-year-old man is charged with sending lewd text messages from his prison cell to a juvenile female who lives in Lamar County. Sylvester Jerome Hodges was incarcerated at Dooley State Prison in Unadilla at the time he sent four cellphone images of his genitalia to the victim during the period Nov. 14-21, 2011. The images had been downloaded to a CD, according to an incident report prepared by investigator Laura Hughes of the Lamar County sheriff’s office. Hodges was serving a lengthy prison sentence – his second on a criminal damage to property conviction in Decatur County. He was released from prison on November 7, 2012, according to the Department of Corrections website. Hughes’ report alleges Hodges, who signed the messages ‘˜Sly’ sent multiple texts of a lewd nature to the juvenile. The report gave no indication of how Hodges acquired a cellphone while in prison.
