Radio personality busted for meth after chase

The Zebulon police department attempted to pull over Michael ‘Bill’ Bailey, 59, of Thomaston Tuesday, Nov. 5, but he fled from officers. Bailey worked as a WTGA Fun 101 DJ, but was fired after his arrest. According to Zebulon police chief Chuck Ledbetter, Bailey was driving a 2003 Chevrolet box van when Maj. Jonathan Hemphill attempted to initiate a traffic stop for failure to maintain lane. Bailey refused to pull over and a vehicle chase ensued. Officer Shaun Carr assisted Maj. Hemphill in stopping the vehicle just inside Upson County. Bailey was placed under arrest on traffic charges and reportedly gave consent to search the vehicle. About nine grams of methamphetamine and a glass pipe were allegedly found in the vehicle. Bailey was charged with failure to maintain lane, fleeing and attempting to elude and possession of meth. Bailey is being housed in the Pike County Jail.
