Raymond Edward Woodard obituary

Mr. Raymond Edward ‘Woody’ Woodard, age 67, of Barnesville passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 in a Monroe County healthcare facility. A native of Huntington, W.Va., he was the son of the late Mr James Woodard and the late Mrs. Loretta Maxwell Woodard. Mr. Woodard was a veteran, having retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service as an aviation technician and, as a civilian, retired as a maintenance electrician. He was a Mason, and member of Pinta Lodge 88 F&A.M. in Barnesville, and was a member of the Lilla Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nancy J. Woodard of Barnesville; one son, Raymond E. Woodard II of Oklahoma; two stepdaughters, Tara (and Stewart) Morrison of Barnesville and LuAnne (and Reece) Pearce of McDonough; stepsons, Robert ‘Bubba’ Emfinger and Charles Lamar Emfinger, both of Lanett, Ala.; one brother and sister-in-law, Homer “Butch” (and Phyllis) Woodard of Wilson, N.C.; six grandchildren, Hayley Pearce, Jason Bratton, Jeffery Bratton Taylor Morrison, Hannah Morrison and Abigail Morrison; and several great-grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Raymond ‘Woody’ Woodard will be conducted Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 3 p.m. in the Lilla Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Stewart Morrison officiating.
