Rebecca Brown “Becky” Goolsby, 97, of Barnesville, died Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Heritage Inn of Barnesville.
Born in Griffin, April 22, 1926, she was a daughter of Dykes Lafayette and Annie Leola Brown Goolsby. Miss Goolsby was a graduate of Georgia Business College. She served with the Civil Air Patrol during World War II and later retired from the William Carter Company where she served as executive secretary.
Miss Goolsby was a long-time member of Barnesville First United Methodist Church, where she formerly taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Miller; and a nephew, Edward Miller.
Surviving are nieces, Marilyn Payne of Kennesaw and Marsha Johnstone of Walsingham, Ontario, Canada; and many special friends who loved her dearly.
A celebration of life service for Rebecca Brown Goolsby will be conducted Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Barnesville First United Methodist Church with Reverend Ann Mann officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorials be made to Barnesville First United Methodist Church, 375 Thomaston Street, Barnesville, GA 30204, in memory of Miss Goolsby.
