Red hot Lady Trojans at home Friday and Saturday nights

The LC Lady Trojans (18-2, 8-0) are at home tonight and Saturday night for key region contests as the regular season winds down and the playoffs approach. Heard County comes to town tonight and Temple rolls in Saturday. Girls action begins at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow. The Lady Trojans, who still have not cracked the state rankings despite their stellar record, got two region wins last week. Last Tueday, LC hosted Jordan and rolled to an 82-40 win. Tomiyah Alford led the scoring with 26 points while Tamya Blasingame and Madisyn Scandrett got 15 apiece. Zaria Fletcher also hit double figures with 10 points. Other scorers were Makalyn McGuire (8), Taschanda Castlin (3), Tyyannia Byrd (3) and Trinity Fuller (2). On Friday, LC went to Bremen and squeaked out a 58-56 win in a thriller. No box score information was available for that game. Meanwhile, the Trojans (6-13, 3-5) split two games. They routed Jordan 81-52 Tuesday behind a 21-point effort from Josiah Stewart. Travion Rogers added 15 points while DK Foster hit double figures with 10. CJ Driver and Malik Stewart had nine points each for LC. On Friday, LC fell to Bremen on the road 57-41. Scoring from that game was unavailable at press time Monday.
