Lamar County, currently split between four state house districts, would be served by only two representatives for the next 10 years under redistricting maps released Friday.The initial proposal, touted by Republicans and subject to change, splits Lamar between districts 130 and 131. Roughly the northern two-thirds of Lamar would join eastern Spalding and southern Henry counties in the new district 130. The remainder of Lamar would join all of Pike and Upson counties in district 131.On the senate side, Lamar would remain fully in district 16 with Pike, Spalding and most of Fayette counties. The voting age population in proposed district 16 is 20.39% black.
