The Lamar County commission has published a proposed budget in anticipation of setting its millage rate at a called meeting July 27 at 6:30 p.m. Leaving the millage at the same level as last year combined with a precipitous drop in SPLOST income has the county looking at a shortfall of near $400,000 and the need to cut services.
