Robert Arthur Coddington passed away peacefully at his residence on Dec. 4, 2014. He was born on June 19, 1946 in Ellenville, N.Y., to Leslie Green Coddington and Mary Elizabeth Teal Coddington. He had lived in Columbus, Ga., for many years before moving to Barnesville. He was a member of the Barnesville First United Methodist Church. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy for several years and was a retired detective with the Columbus police department. His is survived by his wife, Midgie McKoy Coddington of Barnesville; two children; one step-son; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral arrangements are private.
