Robert Edwin Hambrick Jr.

Mr. Robert Edwin Hambrick Jr., age 81, of Barnesville passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014 in a Macon healthcare facility. Mr. Hambrick was born in Griffin to the late Mr. Robert Edwin Hambrick Sr. and the late Mrs. Emma Pulliam Hambrick. He was a United States Navy veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict, a member and former Sunday school teacher at Antioch Baptist Church, he was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as an engineering auditor and a former teacher and principal in Upson County. Mr. Hambrick also received an associate’s degree from Gordon Military College. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Compton Hambrick; a son, Bruce Robert Hambrick (and Susen) of Griffin; a daughter, Pamela Hambrick Buchanan (and Richard) of Stockbridge; three grandchildren, Joshua Thomas Hambrick, Ryan Hambrick Buchanan and Ashley Nicole Buchanan; a great-grandchild, Zackary Thomas Gooden; two sisters, Mary Mosteller (and John) of Orlando, Fla., and Drucilla Fernander of Griffin; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Robert Edwin Hambrick Jr. were conducted on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Dr. Jeff Morgan and Rev, Garth Forster officiating. Interment followed in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family received friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Those who wish may view the memorial page and sign the guestbook online at williamsfh.net.
