Rock Springs burns note

Sunday, Jan. 11, Rock Springs Church celebrated the elimination of its debt on the 4,000 square foot house purchased for the Potter’s House Ministry. The house was purchased in February 2007 for $414,000 and the loan was paid off in less than two years. Dr. Benny Tate, senior pastor, brought the message at the 11 a.m. worship. At the end of the service, Dr. Tate burned the note, with about 30 current and former residents of the Potter’s House on stage with him. Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle was in attendance. The Potter’s House is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to helping women from all walks of life who have led dysfunctional lives. It is a Christian discipleship program rather than a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. For six months, women are immersed in the word of God, prayer and Christian fellowship with people from different churches. The Potter’s House is free to residents. Everything is furnished and paid for by donations from churches in surrounding communities, including Rock Springs. Information: http://www.rocksprings
