Rowland takes top spot at Chamber

Emily Rowland has been named president/CEO of the Barnesville-Lamar County Chamber of Commerce. The full release from the chamber follows: The Barnesville-Lamar County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Emily Rowland will become the new President and CEO of the organization. Coming upon her 6 month anniversary of employment, Emily has shown a full commitment to the Chamber of Commerce and the mission that it maintains. Ernie Neubauer, 2013 Chairman of the Board, reported, ‘We are fortunate to have Emily choose to commit to the position as President of the Barnesville-Lamar County Chamber of Commerce. Her energy and excitement of taking this leadership role will take our Chamber to the next level. We expect great things.’ The Jonesboro, GA native has resided in Barnesville for the past four years, and when asked expresses that she plans to never leave. ‘I am delighted that I have received the opportunity to begin planting roots here for myself and my family. Barnesville is the most beautiful place that I have ever seen. Lamar County is filled with the most beautifully genuine people, and I am so blessed to have the relationships that I have made, ‘says Rowland. Emily brings to the position a background in small business management and banking experience. Raised in a family that owned a small business in Henry County she has first-handedly witnessed and experienced the struggles that small business owners face. She also graduated from SunTrust University in 2007 and worked in the banking industry in McDonough, GA until the birth of her daughter in 2009. Emily is a proud mother and wife, who moved to Lamar County to live in ‘A great place to live, work and raise a family’. Emily told us, ‘The motto of the town exceeded my expectations, and anything that I can do to give back to this community that I call my home, is a task that I am committed to. What better way to be involved than through the Chamber of Commerce. I am grateful for the opportunity.’
