A new opening for the former Rudy’s Restaurant in Milner is expected to lead to the passage of the pouring license for beer and wine that was put on hold when former restauranteur Randolph Vaughn was arrested. At its Feb. 18 meeting, city council is to consider a license for Tracy Wallace, who has rented the building with plans for a dinner restaurant. He owns El Toro Loco, a Mexican restaurant, and Slices, a pizzeria, in Griffin. Wallace also owns a commercial supply company.”We’ll have to pass the ordinance we readied for Rudy,” said city administrator Harold Wilson. “It passed on first reading 4-1 and we could do it with only a second reading, but we’re going to hold two.”With the code in place, Wallace hopes to reopen the restaurant by the end of February. It will be open for dinner Thursday through Saturday and for a buffet on Sunday.
