Rufus Durrah died early on Christmas Day. At 103, he was the oldest living citizen in Lamar County. Durrah was honored the past three years on his birthday which was August 22. A native of Lamar County, Durrah was a World War II veteran. He was a resident of Sunny Grove. His funeral was held Monday at Welcome Grove Baptist Church in Thomaston.
