School board will tap reserves; won’t raise millage

The Lamar County Board of Education has published a tentative budget that calls for digging into its reserves to fund operations. Just over $1 million will be taken from reserve funds. The board will not raise the millage rate, mandate furloughs, shorten school calendars or withhold raises.
