Field personnel from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be in Lamar County beginning this week, according to sheriff Larry Waller. ”Citizens should be aware that they may be asked for information from FEMA. Use caution. FEMA personnel will always have a FEMA picture identification card. Be sure they are properly identified. Notify the sheriff’s office if you are approached by suspicious persons. We have had no reports of any individuals in the area who are representing themselves falsely. We only want to remind people to be careful as they release information,” Waller said.
