Investigators from the Lamar County sheriff’s office are looking into allegations of misconduct by an unidentified youth minister at Fellowship Restoration Church and the church school, Liberty Christian Academy. Rev. Phillip English is pastor of the church and headmaster of the school. Reports first surfaced indicating a 14-year-old student at the school had been molested by a staffer. After The Herald-Gazette broke this story, the sheriff’s department issued the following news release: Statements that have been made by The Herald Gazette newspaper concerning text messaging by anyone at the Fellowship Restoration Church are premature. The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office is investigating allegations of inappropriate text messaging, but since this is an open investigation no details can be released at this time.
