The Lamar County sheriff’s department has rejoined the regional Narcotics Task Force after a four-year absence.Sheriff Larry Waller has hired Jerry Meadows, a former K-9 officer with the Thomaston Police Department, and assigned him to NTF duties.The NTF now includes officers from the police departments in Barnesville, Zebulon, Griffin and Thomaston and the sheriff’s departments in Lamar, Monroe and Upson counties. It is commanded by Lt. Mike Ogletree of the Monroe County sheriff’s office.
