Sheriff’s race gets interesting

For reprint permission, e-mail By Walter Geiger For the first time in decades – if not ever, Lamar County may have three candidates on a November general election ballot in a local race. Dewitt Edenfield, campaign kickoff manager for former sheriff Joe Buice, reported Buice will announce for sheriff this week and may run as an Independent. Current chief deputy, Maj. Brad White, is expected to run as a Republican and challenger Frank Usher has said he will run as a Democrat.
