Mrs. Shirley Marie Spoone, age 78, of Barnesville passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014, in a Spalding County healthcare facility. Mrs. Spoone was born April 16, 1936 to the late Mr. Clarence Harrell and the late Mrs. Laura Buffington Harrell. Mrs. Spoone was a member of Bethel Baptist and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Dan Spoone; two daughters, Beverly Ann Chambers (and Barry) of Meansville, Ellen Lynn Adams (and David) of Barnesville; one sister Ann Keadle (and Joe) of Barnesville; three grandchildren, Tommy Adams, Jeremy Bell and Melissa Adams; and two great-grandchildren, Larry Jay Norris and Hunter David Bell. Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Marie Spoone will be conducted on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Melissa Adams and the Rev. Barry Chambers officiating. Internment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tenn., 38101-9908.
