Short-handed Trojans fall 24-0 in scrimmage

The injury riddled Lamar County Trojans fell to Northside-Columbus Friday night at Trojan Field 24-0. The Trojans were without four-year starter QB/DB L.J. Smith and featured runningback Juan Tucker, both of whom would have played had the game counted. Also dinged up was promising junior runningback Tae Holiday, a transfer from Bleckley County, and several other key LC contributors. N-C scored on a 31-yard TD pass and runs of two and 12 yards. They also notched a short-range field goal. Lamar scrimmages at Spalding County next Thursday at 7 p.m. before regular season play gets underway August 21 at Howard High in Macon.
