The effort by sheriff Brad White and his deputies to purge Lamar County of illegal drugs and drug dealers led to the execution of search warrants at five local residences and the arrests of six suspects over the last several days.Assisted by agents of the multi-county Narcotics Task Force, deputies seized a quantity of marijuana, methamphetamine, two guns and cash.Garrett Anthony Hinshaw, 30, of 895 High Falls Road was arrested August 7. He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and use of a communications facility during a drug transaction. Hinshaw has been released on a $20,000 bond.Damon Lee Nellor, 17; Alicia Lynn Howell, 30; and Jerry Marvin Howell, 36, all of 344 Lamar County Line Road, were arrested July 31 and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug related objects. Each was released on a bond of $11,000.Marvin Terel Howell, 56, of 342 Lamar County Line Road, was arrested July 30 and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was released on a $15,000 bond.Kenneth Wayne Brown, 47, of 118 Washington Park Circle, was arrested August 8 and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects.
