Soap Game set for Friday

By Ken K. Green With the beginning of the dog days of August, so begins football camp for the Lamar County Trojans. The Trojan players and coaches reported to camp on the local high school campus Monday morning and will work out on the field twice a day through Thursday, wrapping up camp with the annual Soap Game intra-squad scrimmage Friday night at Trojan Field. The team will practice in full pads for two and a half hours each day beginning at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. They will be fed breakfast and lunch and have film study and position meetings between the two practices. Coach Jason Strickland says summer workouts went really well for the team and there were good numbers each evening for weight room training as well as agility and skill training and conditioning.
