Soccer, baseball on tap here this weekend

The Lamar County soccer teams host Howard High School of Macon Friday at Trojan Field. The Lady Trojans kick things off against the Howard girls at 5:30 p.m. while the Lamar boys battle the Huskies at 7:30 p.m. The Lady Trojans go into Friday’s match with a 4-3-1 record while the boys are 3-4-1.The Diamond Trojans, coming off an 8-5 loss at Callaway Tuesday, host Heard County in a Region 5AA game at Aldora Field Friday. First pitch is set for six o’clock. Lamar comes into the contest 4-5 for the season and 2-2 in region play. Gordon College is also at home this weekend for baseball. The Highlanders host conference foe Darton of Albany at six o’clock Friday and take on the Cavaliers in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday. Gordon stands at 14-13 for the season.
