Soccer, baseball playoff times set

The Lamar County High School soccer and baseball teams will open play in the GHSA AA playoffs this week. The soccer teams will both play in Dublin Thursday while the baseball team will travel to Eastman to play Dodge County Friday.The Lady Trojans at 8-10 are the fourth seed from Region 4-AA and will play 3-AA’s top seeded Lady Irish who are 15-1-2 and ranked fourth in the state. The Trojans also 8-10 are the third seed from 4-AA and will meet the 11-7 Irish who are the second seed from 3-AA. The girls match will kick off at 5:30 p.m. Thursday followed by the boys match at 7:30 p.m.The Diamond Trojans at 14-12 and seeded fourth from 4-AA will meet the Indians who are 14-9 and the top seed in 3-AA in a best of three series. Game one will be played Friday in Eastman at 3:30 p.m. followed by game two at six o’clock. If the two teams split the third and deciding game will be played Saturday at 12 noon also in Eastman.
