It’s a hurry up and wait process, but Roger Hollandsworth has been buying foreclosed properties from the courthouse steps for 25 years, beginning when he ran a Century 21 franchise in West Virginia. He has seen many changes in the market over the years.”From 2004 to 2007, it was booming ‘“ anybody and everybody could get a loan and that’s what killed the market,” he said. “People who didn’t qualify were getting loans and this is the result of it. I think it’s going to take between four and five years to stabilize the market again.”Every month, locally foreclosed homes are auctioned off on the courthouse steps. Hollandsworth said it takes a lot of work and investigation to find a good deal on a foreclosed property.
